if aliens were cute and cuddly, will still we throw them in refugee camps? if you aren't planning to watch district 9 (must watch in cinema!), you are really missing out. this modern day fable hurls aliens into our faces to show us just what it means to be human -- to smile, to love, to fear, to hate, to be in awe, to lie and cheat and sell ourselves, to be self centred, to sacrifice, to want above all else to be loved and accepted.
and the aliens! crazy for cat food, with flies buzzing around them... how awesome is that.
and how true it is that, given enough time, humans will exploit anything and everything for personal gain, even a clearly superior species with enough weaponry (not to mention overdeveloped fast-twitch muscles) to turn us all into sidewalk splatter in a matter of seconds.
i can't wait for the sequel. there has to be a sequel PLSSSSssssss......
