honeymooning

i don't think i've ever been constantly excited about the same person for this long. it's almost 5 months, and every time i see her i still feel as warm and fuzzy as i've been since the start. just talked to a friend about the "honeymoon period", and i think i'm very much still in the middle of my honeymoon!

also realized that blogging is tough when you're insanely happy. so is everything else that involves private instrospection, such as songwriting. but i don't think being creative is mutually exclusive with enjoying life with your loved ones, so i guess i'll just have to manage my time a little better... i can do it!

floating rocks

guess where the floating rocks from avatar came from?

the pic on the left was taken by my bb during her trip to zhang jia jie, which is this place in china with alien rocks that look like they just came out of a fantasy movie.

the pic on the right was taken by james cameron during his trip to pandora, which is this place in outer space with alien rocks that look like they just came out of zhang jia jie.

isn't this awesome? i've taken the liberty of doing a little match-the-photos, showing all the little details (click on picture to enlarge) to prove that the avatar producers went to china, cut the tops off hundreds of giant rocks and shipped them 4 light years away to make the film. that's the real reason for the US$300 million budget, folks! and also more proof that china is now the obsession of the western world, just like in the recent 2012 movie where china workers saved the entire world by building super high tech arks that would make any noah green with envy.

fantastic mr fox

i like stop motion films. it amazes me how these inanimate objects are brought to life just by placing them in slightly different poses each time and taking hundreds of thousands of pictures -- there's just something very magical about that. so yesterday evening, drenched in sweat from Keppel's Amazing Food Race (in which my team came in a miserable LAST PLACE), i dragged my sweetheart to Iluma to watch Fantastic Mr Fox, which promised to be just as awesome as its title suggested.

and what a treat it was! loved the 2D-ish scenes, loved the fur, loved the explosions, loved the acrobatics, loved the digging!

and loved the girl sitting beside me. we're glowing too!
