can you see the stars
from the windows far
up in the sky above
they are full of love

for us but we only know
to curse at all the things we have
to lose and all the words we have
to choose not to
say we're sorry

and if we could see them smiling
we would know that we're not lonely
it's just that time moves slowly
sometimes but we're only
human

and if we could find a way to love
the things that hurt us most
it should be so much easier to lose
the pain that stirs inside us

it shines for everyone
no matter who we are
